Visual artist, choreographer, director, writer.  Jan Fabre favors an artistic search meant to go beyond expressive barriers.  His work has a summary and interdisciplinary character, even if many of his works are linked to a study of the human body and its transfiguration.
This intense exploration of man, studied and explored in its corporeality, and the artist's fascination with the natural world link his work to the concept of metamorphosis, borrowed from his passion for the sciences, and entomology in particular.
The marked surrealism of his poetic elements looks more to the artists of the past than to contemporary ones, but the message transmitted is tied overwhelmingly to our times.
